Features

Everything your team needs to handle WordPress images — in one free plugin.

All Sources Images is built around four core capabilities: a unified image browser, automatic featured images on publish, bulk generation across archives, and AI-powered image creation when stock photos don’t fit. Here’s what each one does for your team.

The image browser — search everything from one place.

Instead of opening Pixabay in one tab, Unsplash in another and your AI tool somewhere else, the image browser brings every source together inside wp-admin. Search once, compare results, download the image you want directly into your Media Library.

Where it appears

  • The All Sources Images menu in wp-admin opens the browser directly — no extra clicks.
  • The Gutenberg ASI Images block puts the browser inside the Block Editor.
  • The Elementor ASI Image widget gives page builders the same experience.
  • Media > All Sources Images keeps it accessible from standard media screens.

Source order matters: you choose which sources appear first in the browser. Your editors always see their preferred providers at the top.

Automatic featured images — set it once, forget about it.

Your editors shouldn’t have to manually assign a featured image to every single post. Enable Auto Image and the plugin handles it automatically every time a post is published.

Enable per post type

Apply automation only to the content types that need it — posts, pages, custom types, WooCommerce products.

Filter by taxonomy

Target specific categories or tags. Leave other content types completely untouched.

Exclude specific posts

Some posts need a hand-picked image. Exclude them by ID and Auto Image skips them completely.

Primary & fallback sources

Set a primary source and a fallback. If the first one returns nothing useful, the second kicks in automatically.

Bulk generation — fill your archive without touching each post.

Got hundreds of old posts with no featured image? Bulk Generation turns what would be days of manual work into a single job you can set up and walk away from.

Target what you need

Run on all posts, only posts missing a featured image, or a custom selection filtered by date, category or search term.

Configurable placement

Images can go in as featured thumbnails or inline in the post body. Control position, file naming, ALT text and captions.

Track progress live

The Jobs List shows every job you’ve run, its current status and how far along it is. Nothing runs blind.

Works for WooCommerce too: select Products in the job creator to bulk-process your catalog the same way you’d process blog posts.

AI image generation — custom visuals when stock isn’t enough.

Sometimes a blog post about a very specific topic won’t have a matching stock photo. That’s what AI generation is for — describe what you need and get a custom image from one of five leading providers.

OpenAI DALL-E

The go-to for prompt-based generation. Straightforward to set up, excellent results for editorial and illustrative content.

Google Gemini

Gemini 2.5 Flash Image is the recommended default — a solid balance of quality and cost. Gemini 3.1 Flash Image Preview is also available.

Stability AI & Replicate

More control over model selection, aspect ratio and output format. Useful when you need to fine-tune the generation style.

For developers and AI workflows.

The plugin exposes its capabilities through the WordPress REST API and, on WordPress 6.9+, through the WordPress Abilities API — making it accessible to MCP-compatible AI assistants.

REST API

Build custom automations or integrate image search and generation into your own WordPress workflows programmatically, without the admin UI.

WordPress Abilities API (WP 6.9+)

MCP-compatible AI agents can discover the plugin’s capabilities and interact with images on behalf of editors — searching, generating and assigning images without manual intervention.
