Complete backup & restore

Full site backups, database-only backups, differential backups and selective restore. Restore the full site, a single component, or specific database tables — with integrity checks before every critical operation.

Remote storage built in

Send backup archives to Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, S3-compatible storage (Backblaze B2, Wasabi, MinIO, DigitalOcean Spaces), FTP, or SFTP so backups live outside the server hosting your site.

Migration & staging

Move sites to a new domain or server with migration packages and URL remapping. Create staging copies in a subdirectory for safe testing before pushing changes to production.

What’s included

One plugin for the full WordPress maintenance workflow.

Most backup plugins only create archives. StifLi Backup Tools covers the complete cycle: create, schedule, store remotely, restore, migrate, stage, and maintain.

Scheduled backups

Daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or custom schedules. Choose components, destinations, retention limits, and notification settings. Full or differential backup strategy per task.

Differential backups

Use a full backup as the base and create differential backups between full runs to reduce storage and speed up recurring backup workflows on active sites.

Flexible restore

Restore the full site, only the database, only uploads, specific plugins or themes, or selected database tables. Restore from local backups, uploaded ZIPs or remote storage archives.

Backup integrity checks

Verify backup archives before relying on them for restore or migration. The backup explorer lets you inspect contents before committing to a restore operation.

Push/Pull migration

Site-to-site migration using a shared secret between two WordPress sites you control. Useful for agency workflows where staging and production are both under your management.

Maintenance tools

Image optimization, database cleanup (revisions, spam, transients, overhead), temporary file cleanup, and custom exclude rules — all from the same admin area.

Email & webhook notifications

Get notified by email when scheduled backups complete. Use webhook notifications to integrate backup status into external monitoring tools or automation pipelines.

Shared hosting ready

Background processing via WP-Cron, resumable operations, chunked ZIP creation, streaming database export and import, and memory-aware file operations designed for constrained environments.

Logs & system information

A built-in log viewer and system information screen help diagnose backup failures, connection issues and hosting-specific limitations without leaving WordPress.

Remote storage

Keep your backups off the same server as your site.

Local backups are useful, but if the server fails, local copies can fail with it. StifLi Backup Tools supports multiple remote storage destinations so you always have a copy that lives outside the WordPress installation. Remote storage is optional and only connects when you explicitly configure and enable it.

Google Drive

Connect via OAuth and store backup archives in a Drive folder you choose. Resumable chunked uploads handle large backup files reliably.

Dropbox

Connect your Dropbox account and configure a folder path for your backups. Separate retention rules for remote backups prevent uncontrolled storage growth.

Amazon S3 & compatible

Works with AWS S3 and S3-compatible services including Backblaze B2, Wasabi, MinIO and DigitalOcean Spaces. Use the endpoint URL for any compatible provider.

FTP & SFTP

Send backups to any FTP or SFTP server. Useful for hosting environments that provide their own managed remote storage via file transfer.

Feature comparison

Advanced backup features without pushing the essentials behind a Pro plan.

StifLi Backup Tools is designed to include serious backup, restore, migration, staging and remote storage workflows in one GPL WordPress plugin, with no external license checks or feature paywalls for the core toolkit.

More in the free toolkit

Differential backups, SFTP, staging, selective restore, remote storage, migration and maintenance tools are positioned as core capabilities.

Built for technical site owners

Webhook notifications, push/pull migration, standalone restore thinking and remote destination control fit agency and admin workflows.

GPL-first positioning

The message is simple: advanced WordPress backup workflows, transparent licensing, no telemetry and no external license calls for core features.

Privacy & data

No telemetry. No cloud dependency. No automatic external calls.

StifLi Backup Tools does not contact any external service automatically. No license checks, no analytics, no telemetry. External services (remote storage, webhooks, site-to-site migration) are only contacted when you explicitly configure and enable the corresponding feature. You control what leaves your server and when.
